Fossombrone relives the Renaissance by celebrating the Triumph of Carnival.

Every second weekend of May, culture and fun await you. The city center will be a set of suggestions and small moments with great evocative power. Over 1000 people in Renaissance dress will liven up the three streets of the historic centre, decorated for the occasion with the coats of arms of the neighbourhoods, the Renaissance market, the stalls of the trades of the time, archers, music, fire shows and acrobatics. On Saturday and Sunday the 11 districts will compete in the Renaissance games between districts to win the Palio del Cardinale. The challenge will also involve the little ones with the Palio of children and pimps, which will take place on Sunday morning. And if you are still not satisfied, the districts will await you at their 11 Renaissance taverns where the menus, strictly adhering to 1559, will offer you the opportunity to taste the flavors of the territory and to get to know the delicacies of the palate which were certainly not lacking even then . On Sunday afternoon the highlight will be the final of the games between neighborhoods and the "Cursa all'anello", the famous horse race, where each neighborhood will compete for the victory of the Palio del Cardinale.
